This is one of the
more important works of the copious Pierre Joseph Buc’hoz. It containts two
hundred colored plates of varying merit, artistically and botanically; but,
except for an occasional note at the foot of a plate, it contains no
descriptions (Hunt). Some plates have their number been deleted in the press,
due to their previous use in other works. Buchoz is also spelled as Buch’oz or
